Situated in 200 acres of the beautiful ‘Welsh Marches’ on the Herefordshire/ Powys border we are delighted to introduce Drovers Rest which echoes a medieval fortified farmhouse making it the perfect backdrop to many types of period and contemporary drama, TV commercials and Photo shoots.
There are 40 acres of farm, woodland, meadows and orchards the farm has a bubbling brook running through which backs onto a 150-acre common called Little Mountain where wild horses and ponies can be seen (and filmed) running free.
There are some terrific camera positions on site enabling filming to take in the stunning Hay on Wye landscape.
For period productions a horse wrangling and riding tuition services service is available for those actors who may need a quick ‘refresher’ course before undertaking filming. There are other farm animals which can be filmed including Black Welsh Mountain sheep.
There is plenty of room to accommodate cast & crew in comfort and actors will very much enjoy relaxing on ‘Hotel Call’ in the most beautiful surroundings whilst being minutes from where filming is taking place.
Production Managers will be delighted to know that there is plenty of parking for Unit Vehicles making Drovers Rest the perfect Unit Base/Production HQ when filming in and around Hay on Wye.
Finally Drovers Rest is capable of hosting and catering for large events making it the perfect venue for your end of shoot party!
Drovers Rest really needs to be visited to be fully appreciated so for all filming enquiries and to organise a ‘recce’ please contact: Nikki Blandin De Chalain | Tel: 07955 75058 | email: events@droversrest.co.uk
