Picton Castle & Gardens is a magnificent 14th-century stronghold in the heart of Pembrokeshire. With over 700 years of rich history, the castle is set within 50 acres of enchanting gardens providing brilliant camera positions to take in the magnificent exteriors. Picton Castle Gardens is a partner Garden to The Royal Horticultural Society and even has a unique collection of antique and vintage gardening machinery which could be made available for period productions, if you ask nicely!
The formidable exterior is matched by the majestic interiors which are a production designer’s and art directors dream. The principle state rooms, the kitchens and medieval undercroft complete with its impressive rib-vaulted ceiling. From the outside, with its imposing towers and arrow slits, the castle presents a formidable presence – but inside it reveals a terrific panoply of potential locations.
Production Managers will be delighted to know that there is plenty of parking for unit vehicles making Picton Castle a great Production HQ when filming in West Wales.
