The Duchy of Cornwall Dartmoor Estate lies in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park in Devon. It has sweeping panoramic views of open moorland, which run down to tree clad river valleys. The estate contains the stark village of Princetown with its prison, built by Napoleonic prisoners of war, and the picturesque hamlet of Postbridge, well known for its medieval clapper bridge. There are the famous wild ponies and traditional buildings and farmhouses, most dating back hundreds of years and considered unique to Dartmoor, as is the landscape.
