This is a London film location with a difference. Home to the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, the HQS Wellington is moored on the Thames by the Embankment, conveniently positioned between the City and the West End.
This historic ship made several trips to Dunkirk during the famed evacuation and rescued many British soldiers and brought them home to fight another day.
She now rests peacefully alongside The Embankment where she provides the perfect backdrop for many types of Period Drama productions, commercials and photo shoots.
The upper deck provides excellent and stable camera positions for filming the iconic sites along the River Thames especially at night time when the City is lit up and would be a great place to film the New Year firework festivities from, HQS Wellington would also make an excellent Production HQ when filming in this part of London.
Production Designers and Art Directors should note that below decks there are a selection of period staterooms they can film in with a collection of priceless paintings and model ships and Marine Antiques.
This historic ship is suitable for parties of up to 220 people making it the perfect venue for your ‘wrap party’. With four separate spaces available, you can hire just one meeting room or the whole ship exclusively!
