Sotterley Estate

We are delighted to introduce this superb Film Location/Unit Base situated on the Norfolk Suffolk Border very close to The Norfolk Broads.

The picturesque setting of Sotterley Estate, with its rolling parkland, lake and ancient woodland surrounding the fine Georgian mansion and the 12-Century St Margaret’s Church, makes it an ideal film and TV location.

The house has already featured in the BBC documentary, ‘Battle of the Somme’, and an earlier screen adaptation of the Ruth Rendell thriller, ‘A Dark Adapted Eye’.

Situated just four miles from the Suffolk heritage coast and with good transport links to the A12 and the railway station at nearby Brampton, Sotterley is happy to accommodate any size of film production.

Sotterley has a wealth of interesting features, including as folly, a sawmill, a lake, a reservoir, derelict buildings, farmland and equestrian facilities.

Aside from being a highly versatile Film Location they are also able to supply office/warehouse/studio space which would make it the ideal Unit Base/Production Headquarters when Filming in this part of the country.

They are able to source horses and provide riding instruction to Actors who may be required to ride as part of a Period Drama.

Sotterley welcome enquiries from the Film and TV industries and will be happy to organise a ‘Recce’ where you can appreciate the full scale of what they have to offer.
