The Luton Hoo Estate

We are delighted to welcome this well established location The Luton Hoo Estate.

In recent years the Estate has hosted period dramas for both TV and the big screen including: Empire of the Sun, Gosford Park, Nicholas Nickleby, Inspector Morse, Oliver, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bleak House, Little Dorrit and Desperate Romantics.

This together with it’s extensive grounds not only makes it a perfect film location it also provides excellent facilities as a Unit Base/Production HQ whilst filming in the area.

Offering a range of period buildings in a commanding rural setting, Luton Hoo Estate is widely recognised as a picturesque location.

The traditional brick buildings of the historic Home Farm complex and the stately Lime Tree Avenue that stretches for nearly a mile are two such features that make Luton Hoo Estate a successful filming venue.

There is also a Walled Garden comprising five acres which was designed by Capability Brown and various period properties on the Estate which add to the versatility of this location.

The team on the estate are well versed with the demands of filming and a flexible, efficient approach allows for smooth, uninterrupted filming.

Situated only 32 miles from central London and within 2 miles of the M1, the Estate benefits from excellent access and with Harpenden a short distance away there are facilities for large film crew and casts.
