Eggesford Barton House

We are delighted to introduce Eggesford Barton House as a new location, accommodation for cast and crew and as a Unit Base/Production Headquarters whilst filming in North Devon.

Barry Lyndon, The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Howards End, Isadora, Knights of the Round Table, A Matter of Life and Death, The Remains of the Day Revolution, Sense and Sensibility and War Horse are just a few of the many productions filmed in the area and Eggesford Barton House is ideally placed to serve as a location for further types of Period Drama whilst being able to accommodate cast & crew and serve as a Unit Base all at the same time.

Once the main farm for The Earls of Portsmouth’s Eggesford estate, it offers exclusive use of The House, a unique, Grade 11 listed property over 300 years old.

The house surrounds a large garden courtyard and is full of charm and character with pretty Georgian arched windows, exposed oak beams, original fireplaces and quirky sloping floors. Carefully converted and renovated, the rooms are tastefully furnished in a manner sympathetic to the style of the property and the house readily accommodates 24 guests or up to 26 with The Beehive annex, which is right next door.

The countryside surrounding Eggesford Barton House is quite beautiful with Eggesford Forest and the Tarka Trail on the doorstep, spectacular surfing beaches like Croyde and Saunton Sands to the North, Exmoor to the East and Dartmoor to the West.

With an Indoor Games Room, Archery and Laser Shooting and Health & Beauty treatments, Actors will enjoy being on “Hotel Call” at Eggesford Barton House whilst being only a stones throw from the Location.
